Tools built on experience
I've been a Bricklayer now for 28 years, worked all over the UK, the Channel Islands and in Australia.
Wherever I've worked I've always found cutting blocks to be awkward and time consuming. When you’re on a price per m² it feels like you’re wasting time/money having to put your trowel down and start messing about with machinery, especially when working on a scaffold.
I spent years thinking about this and eventually, through many trial designs and development came up with a solution to a big part of the problem that is practical and easy to use in many scenarios. Although there will always be a need for Stihl saws etc, in a lot or probably most circumstances the Block Master® dramatically reduces the need to use them as well as halving the time it takes to do your normal cuts.
Some good examples of where the Block Master® can really save you time:
When footings are out of level and blocks need to be cut down in their height, or gable ends where the pitch of the roof can be as little as 30 degrees. The block master enables you to cut a block from corner to corner easily just with a Hammer and bolster by hitting it just on one side (no need to turn the block over).
When working off trestles or similar, it's often the case where a bricklayer will have to climb up and down to cut blocks on the ground. The Block Master is simply placed in between the top blocks on a stack which is not being used and there you have your cutting surface. There will be nothing in your way and you will be working/cutting at a comfortable height.
Works on all types of concrete blocks, (solid or cellular), concrete bricks and Thermalites.
Brand new patented design which hasn't even been tested on some materials yet so potential for other applications.
